AI and the Teaching of Law

Over the past year, conversations about how AI was affecting the teaching of Law have been constant at the Faculty —not only in formal meetings, but also in corridor and coffee-break exchanges.

In the work I share here I set out my view on how legal studies must be modified in order to adapt to the reality of AI. I begin by examining what AI can do within our field of work, and move from there to its projection onto legal studies. I start with the question of assessment, go on to methodology, and conclude with the structure of the curriculum.

This is merely a contribution to the debate —a debate I believe to be unavoidable and one that cannot be postponed.
